New Ad Format: Expandable
As traditional banners are losing their effectiveness as banner blindness is increasing amongst users, expandable banner emerges. Expandable banners can take many forms and depending on the specific network they can be called differently.
They generally provide a dramatic entrance with eye-grabbing graphics of the advertiser’s message to the publisher page to make users aware of them before settling back to their traditional banner size while enhancing the value of the traditional banner space. If the users would like to view the ad again they can just expand the banner often with just a click.
When the user click on the expandable banner they should land on another page that the advertiser set up to address more information about the product/service and what they would like the user to do.
