Publishers: Positioning Your Ads To Increase Your Revenue
As a publisher, earning the most revenue from your site is important but how to earn the most from your website is the key. A lot of publishers like to populate their website with ads, usually the publishers will know fairly fast that this method won’t work. Why you may ask? As your website is full of ads it decreases the value to your website’s content and users will find it annoying and leave your site, without visitors to your site you will not increase your revenue. In addition, most network will suspend sites with a large number of ads as it does not provide conversions to their advertisers. As a result carefully layout your ads on your website.
You should always consider your visitors and value of your website content when placing ads. You would need to balance the two in order to successfully earn from your website. Your website needs to be neat and clean, uncluttered and inviting in order for your visitors to stay and find what they want and provide value. When you maintain your visitors they will help you to earn your revenue by looking at ads that interest them. Remember this is something long term, consisting testing would be needed in order to strick the right balance.
Here are some tips that I found that will help you decide where to place your ads effectively:

Remember that there’s also popunder and interstitials ad formats that you can utilize on your website as well in addition to these banner ad formats. For popunder and interstitials I would advise 1 popunder and 1 intersitials per user session. These tends to be a bit more intrusive and annoying to your website’s visitors therefore it is best not to over use them on your website.
