Publishers: How To Implement AdOnion’s Code

Some people have questions about how to run ads from AdOnion, so I’ve decided to show you how it will work.

After registering your site with AdOnion, you would need to create your ad zone for the site. Once the ad zone is created the last step would be to generate the ad code. You will see 2 codes, one is the javascript code and the other is the iframe code (as shown below). Both codes are the same so you can choose one that is compatible with your server.

Get Code

Copy the code that you wish to work with and open the source code of your website to the page and location where you would like to place the ad.

Using the Merchant’s Directory To Increase Your Earnings

As a publisher, your intent is to make as much earnings as possible. You simply submit your site for approval and advertisers will contact you and we will place ads on your site as well. As a publisher, you can also take control of the revenue you receive by requesting advertisers to place their ad on your site. By visiting the Merchant Directory, publishers are able to see a listing of advertisers and their offers. The publisher can sort by channel, cost metric or ad format and view the details of a particular campaign. Below is a snapshot of the Merchant Directory:

Once the sorting is done, a publisher can also see the daily limit of campaigns and click to view the details to show the target country, offer price, category and ad type as shown below:

AdOnion’s Partner’s Ads

To all publishers,

As AdOnion.com is partnering up with other ad networks to help publishers increase their fill rates as well revenue, we are getting some complaints about suspicious ads. This problem is seen in every network and is unpreventable. We would like to use this post to inform publishers how they can increase their fill rates while decreasing their risks with suspicious ads while publishing with AdOnion. As we all knows, if the advertiser has the heart to cheat, they will do it no matter how tight your monitoring is.

Partner’s ads are partners that AdOnion has partnered up with to help deliver more ads to our network and creating additional earnings to publishers. With this said, AdOnion has no control over the content or quality of the ads as we are unable to see the ads ourselves since they are hosted on our partner’s network.

Publishers, upon signing up for an account and submitting your URL, the default option on the users account will be to display the partner’s ads. Publishers, if you do not wish to display our partner’s ad, you would need to go to your ‘Get Code’ page and check off ‘no’ under partner’s ads . When you opt out the partner’s ads, your earning will correspondently decrease due to fewer ads.

The advantage of publishing with AdOnion  is that AdOnion is a transparent marketplace, meaning that all ads from AdOnion will be seen by all publishers to minimize the occurance of suspicious ads as publishers can check for them too. You are able to check all ads running in the AdOnion network by going to ‘My Zones’ => Available Campaigns to review all the ads and block any ads you wish. In addition by being a publisher, you have access to the merchant directory where you can find ads and request advertisers to place them on your site. This will increase your revenue and give you control over choosing your favorite advertisers.

AdOnion’s Price Increase On March 1, 2010

In order to keep up with the market and keep aligned with our advertiser’s demand of our traffic and also attract more quality websites to AdOnion we will be increasing the rates of our popunder packages on March 1st, 2010.

The popunder rates for package will be:

  • Package A will increase to $4 cpm from $2.75 cpm
  • Package B will increase to $5 from $3.75 cpm
  • Package C will increase to $6 cpm from $5.50 cpm

In addition, to compliment our price we will also promote limited numbers of special packages on a monthly basis, so there is always something to look forward too for advertisers.

Advertisers, if you have something to promote via popunders make sure you do it before March 1st to benefit from the rates. You can start your package campaign here. After March 1st you would need to review our marketplace for publisher’s site that meets the rates you are willing to pay.

For all publishers, this means that you will earn more with AdOnion starting from March 1st, 2010.

promote its work from home service through the AdOnion Network.
This case study shows you how the AdOnion advertiser improves their
landing pages and site navigation as a result of increased online
marketing ROI.

Challenge

“I’m facing a problem just like any other
advertiser — the conversion rate,” says Oliver Kay, AdOnion
Advertiser. “I am looking for an experiential campaign that would
stick in people’s mind. We want to try something that entices
visitors to complete the form after they have read the landing
page.

Oliver knows that he needs to focus on his
landing page and tries several copy rewrites. He also needs to
analyze the websites in AdOnion’s marketplace which can bring the
potential clients, then find the right levers to boost conversion
rates and keep them high.

Campaign

“The landing page originated from my
philosophy that content can attract people while also doing good
things,” Oliver says. “You can create content that touches people’s
lives and make a difference, and the landing page can make you
money.”

Here are the four steps Oliver followed:

Step 1: Create A/B
landing pages

Oliver wants to find out which messages can
generate both high quality and large quantity leads in AdOnion’s
Marketplace. He designs a series of 3 A/B landing page tests. The

To attract the
visitors to notice your service, headline is important. Oliver uses
3 different headlines, that is:

Factual: “Fill the form Now”

Benefit-oriented: “Learn to work from
home on the Internet”

Instructional: “3 steps to make money from Home”

#2 Add more reassuring content:

Oliver decides to play to her strengths on the
site and focus on creating content throughout that educates the
visitors, and made the work from home experience feel easy and
comfortable.

Example article posted prominently on the
landing page:

“Why Millions of people are making money from
Home via internet?”

“Learn how to earn up to $1,000 a day”

“Need help to make money from home? Try us
now.”

#3 Encourage your customer to write the
reviews:

Oliver knows that the potential visitors trust
customers more than anyone else. So he adds a product review
function in the landing page. Then, he contacts existing customers
through e-mail, phone and postcard. To encourage the existing
customers to write the review, Oliver mails a gift to each
customer.

Step 2: Research
competitive sites

Oliver has seen large competition of working
from home services; so he analyzes those competitors’ sites, find
out how they promote their services. He collects all URLs, which
have relationship with competitors’ sites. He tries to find out if AdOnion Marketplace has
these websites or the similar sites.

Step 3: Implement A/B landing pages with live Web
traffic

Oliver creates 3 campaigns, which are targeted
to the same websites. AdOnion Network drives 5,000 unique visitors
to each campaign daily, to get a reliable winning version that
landing page conversion is better. Oliver serves each campaign to
50,000 visitors over a few weeks.

Result:

The winning page directly increased online
sales by 28.1% and surpasses his expectations.

Besides achieving their goal to boost sale
conversions, the test also gave Oliver valuable insights that
researching the competitors is important. As AdOnion’s Marketplace

A strong headline helped convince visitors to
