Did you setup your ad code?

AdOnion has ad code that automatically place ads on your website unless you turn the pre-approve off. Having it ‘on’ means that you can get more revenue from advertisers that choose packages. Not seeing the ad onion banner?
Leanr why the merchant directory is useful as a publisher.

As a publisher, your intent is to make as much earnings as possible. You simply submit your site for approval and advertisers will contact you and we will place ads on your site as well. As a publisher, you can also take control of the revenue you receive by requesting advertisers to place their ad on your site. By visiting the Merchant Directory, publishers are able to see a listing of advertisers and their offers. The publisher can sort by channel, cost metric or ad format and view the details of a particular campaign. Below is a snapshot of the Merchant Directory:

Once the sorting is done, a publisher can also see the daily limit of campaigns and click to view the details to show the target country, offer price, category and ad type as shown below:

So what is the power of the Merchant Directory?
Publishers have the power and control to view, sort and request ads to be displayed on their site with AdOnion’s Merchant Directory. To view our Merchant Directory, please click here.

After last week’s tips on how to use AdOnion’s system to obtain the most, this week we will be providing tips on other ways that you can utilize to increase your revenue.

Varieties of Ad Formats

It’s always good to provide advertisers with more choices, same as in the real world the more the merrier. As there are many advertisers making searches in our marketplace on a daily basis and as there are thousands of sites, advertisers usually refined their search by ad formats. In order to be seen and appeal to advertisers you would first need to land on the search results page, and the easiest thing you can do is add a variety of ad formats to your ad zone list. Providing the choices doesn’t mean that you have to crowd your website with ads, as this is usually not an effective method as most of the time you will find that advertisers will block you or our publisher team will suspend you. You can simply play around with the ad zone and take off some zone until the advertiser’s ads has been completed.

Revising Your Rates

You can also try revising your ad zone rates from time to time. Try different rates, sometimes maybe there are potential advertisers but because they may not be able to afford your rates they did not start a campaign with you. You can also contact your account manager and notify them of new updates and suggestions about your site.

Obtain More Traffic To Your Website

You will always know which countries and ad format is working well for you by checking your earning reports for the specific ad zone. You can then try increasing your website’s traffic volume for the specific countries by doing some social networking, and advertising to these countries to increase your traffic volume and in turn increase your revenue.

There may be a few more tips, if you are a publisher and you found other ways in effectively monetizing your website you can leave a comment so other publishers can also benefit.

After learning about the positions of ads, now here are some tips in how knowing how AdOnion works can help you earn the most from AdOnion.

The main section to go to control your ad zone is the ‘Optimize’ button of your ad zone. You can go to ‘My Ad Zones’ then go to the ad zone you would like to review. Go to the ‘Optimize’ button and you will see all the features such as ad settings, ads match and default ads.

You can change your ad settings at any time, to control the ads you wish to displayed on your website. (Click on the image to enlarge)

You can monetize your site with ads you feel appropriate at all times and block any unwanted ads. From the list you will see who the advertiser is, how much they are paying and if you would like to block the ads you can block it.

Finally, you can easily implement your default ad. You may take another network’s ad code and place it in the default ad area so when there are no ads from AdOnion the other network’s ad will be displayed instead. This way you will be monetizing your ad zone at all times. You can simply go to ‘Add New Default Ad’ to add a default ad code.

Last week’s post “What Is A Publisher?”, we breifly talk about what is a publisher and how do we get started. This week I would like to talk about rates and pricing, as this is one of the most important thing for a publisher to consider when joining an ad network.

AdOnion’s payout is on a 65% revenue share given to publishers. Our payment schedule is on a net 15 basis via Check or PayPal over the minimum of $50.

We have run of networks (RON) ads available just like other networks. At the moment we are looking for mainly US websites that are willing to implement popunder on their webpage as the demand is quite high at the moment.

In addition as AdOnion is an advertising marketplace we provide you with more opportunities to earn more. AdOnion allows you as the publisher to also set your own desire rates. This rate is the rate that an advertiser will pay if he decides to advertise only on your ad zone through our marketplace. There is often a confusion of the setting up of this upon creating the ad zone, let me show you graphically how this works.

After you create your site, you are asked to create your ad zone. Upon creating your ad zone there is an area highlighted in red below for you to input your rates. Many people ask what is that and this is the rate that you can set for your ad zone so advertisers will know how much it is to advertise solely with you in the ad zone. Many people ask I don’t know what rates should I input so what should I do? Most of the time I’ll ask the publisher to review similar sites in our marketplace and look at what others are pricing their ad zone at and come up with similar rates.

When an advertiser browse through our marketplace, they will see your rates and if acceptable they will set up their campaign in your ad zone.

Advertisers are able to see the rates that you've set for your ad zone

As we are a transparent network you will see all the ads that are matched to your ad zone and their rates. You can review these ads and if you feel that they are not suitable for your website’s content you can block the ads from showing up on your site. You can find this function by going to My Ad Zone => Optimize.

Next week there will be more tips on positioning your ad zones, so don’t miss out!

Dear Publishers,

We have now changed all ad zone rates from Cost Per Day (CPD – 1 day, 7 days and 30 days) to CPM/CPC, as many advertisers are concerned about the amount of traffic received from a CPD campaign. In order to benefit both advertisers from paying for what they ordered as well as providing more opportunities for our publishers we’ve made the change to our system.

For the new CPM and CPC ad zones, you can now set your rates according to countries. You can now state the CPM/CPC rate for US, Canada, Australia and UK and International rates. Please note when you state the International rate it will include all countries not mentioned above and the advertisers are able to select the country they wish to advertise in upon the creation of the campaign.

In addition, many advertisers are concerned about getting a campaign started with a publisher but the publisher forgets to include the ad code to their site even though they approved the campaign. As a result, we’ve changed our ad code so we can minimize these kind of situation from happening.

Publishers are now able to place code on their site and state the rate you want and only ads that meets your rate will appear. We also give publishers the option to review the ad before the ad appears on the website, still providing you with more control over the ads you displayed.

Here is what you will find on the ‘Ad Zone Creation Page’ or if you are a current publisher and want to revised your settings you may find it beside your ad zone at the ‘Optimize’ button.

I only want ads that meets my minimum rate to be displayed in my ad zone

- I pre-approve all ads that meets my minimum rate

- I would like to approve all ads before they are displayed on my website

I want to displayed all ads available from AdOnion

If you have any questions about the CPM/CPC change or getting code don’t hesitate to contact me at annie@adonion.com or send us an inquiry using the contact form.

Thank you for the attention and have a nice weekend!

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and well rested for the week ahead.

This morning we have implemented a new feature to our advertiser’s campaign, now all advertiser’s campaign will be on pending until the campaign is reviewed either by the admin if it is a package campagin or by the publisher if it’s a site specific campaign. This will control the quality of the ads and ensure that the advertiser is complying to the TOS, creating a better environment to advertisers, publishers, and website visitors.

Please note the change and all campaigns should be approved within 24 business hours.
