Getting impressions are important for publishers since advertisers are looking for the better rate and impressions that publishers have to offer. Publishers attempt to monetize their site by placing ads such as text, graphical banners, popunders and interstitials. But what if your impressions have slowed down and the revenue from your site is not like it used to be? So what to do now? You need impressions fast to help you and advertisers earn money. Yes you can use twitter and facebook but that means it may take some time creating a fan page and building your twitter followers. The easiest and fastest way would be to advertise using a network whether it be AdOnion, Google or Clicksor.

At AdOnion not only do you know where your ad is targeted, but you can also pause sites that are underperforming and increase the funds spent on those sites that are performing. Publishers can use AdOnion’s advertiser services to increase the impressions on their site and increase their overall potential revenue. For example, using a graphical banner will cost you $0.20 CPM. Let’s say your daily budget is $2. That is for 10,000 views. Then let’s say 10% of the people click on your ad and your site pops up. That’s 1000 clicks. Having popunders in ‘package A’ they are $4 CPM.

This means that for popunders only, you would have made $4 from the 1000 clicks to view your site. Plus on your site you will have other ads such as text, graphical banners and interstitials. This means you will more than double your money and make the increased returns you always wanted from your site.

This not only helps you, but also advertisers as they would have advertised on your site and are looking for more traffic and conversions. Overall, this is not only good for publishers to increase their impressions and revenue, but it is also good for advertisers too. For advertisers, they will benefit by having increased traffic and more exposure of their offers to be promoted online resulting in better conversions.

Did you setup your ad code?

AdOnion has ad code that automatically place ads on your website unless you turn the pre-approve off. Having it ‘on’ means that you can get more revenue from advertisers that choose packages. Not seeing the ad onion banner?
If the is the case, then you will need to login to your account and go to ‘Advertiser Requests’ on the horizontal menu. Once this is done, you can click the magnifying glass to approve or deny the ad after which it will start
displaying automatically once the AdOnion Ad Code has been implemented. Advertiser Requests are advertisers that wish to display their ad on your site and as such, have accepted your terms and rates and would like publisher approval.

Leanr why the merchant directory is useful as a publisher.

As a publisher, your intent is to make as much earnings as possible. You simply submit your site for approval and advertisers will contact you and we will place ads on your site as well. As a publisher, you can also take control of the revenue you receive by requesting advertisers to place their ad on your site. By visiting the Merchant Directory, publishers are able to see a listing of advertisers and their offers. The publisher can sort by channel, cost metric or ad format and view the details of a particular campaign. Below is a snapshot of the Merchant Directory:

Once the sorting is done, a publisher can also see the daily limit of campaigns and click to view the details to show the target country, offer price, category and ad type as shown below:

So what is the power of the Merchant Directory?
Publishers have the power and control to view, sort and request ads to be displayed on their site with AdOnion’s Merchant Directory. To view our Merchant Directory, please click here.

Over the past, there has been some problems with campaigns and this is a concern to AdOnion which is to help advertisers find the traffic they are looking for and publishers to earn as much money as they can. But because of a small bunch of people who is abusing the system, it is hurting everyone else. As a result AdOnion has decided that we will not tolerate this action anymore although it is unpreventable from networks to networks.

I would like to notify all advertisers that there will be no more tolerance for problem campaigns (which includes re-direction, looping, malwares etc). From the end of November our quality control team has reviewed all the campaigns and have suspended all the problem campaigns. From now on if we get another publisher complaints about a advertiser’s campaign it will mean automatic suspension of the campaign and there will be no refund of the unused funds as a result in violations of the terms and agreements.

In the past 2 weeks there hasn’t been complaints by our publishers and we are proud of this and we will sustain this. For publishers I hope that you will be able to support us on this action and report any ads you feel will harm others.

To all publishers,

AdOnion has just created a new Site Representation section which can be found here. The site representation will basically allow you as a publisher to fill out our questionnaire in which we are able to obtain information about the audiences from your site in order for us to represent your site and look for advertisers on your behalf.

The process will work like this:

Fill out our questionnaire or the Site Representation Approval Form, found here.

Fax it back to us, and one of our rep will review the form.

Once your website is approved, we will create an account for you and register your site within our marketplace so our advertisers will find you.

We will group sites with similar content and traffic and offer it to our advertisers

The benefit of being represented by AdOnion:

increase your website’s visibility

your website will be promoted by AdOnion through a variety of mediums including our current clients, social networks, blogs, etc

helping you find advertisers at the cpm rate you set

an alternative to monetize all your traffic with run of networks ads

If you have further questions about the site representation feel free to leave a comment and we will get back to you ASAP or email annie@adonion.com.

Dear Publishers,

Hope all is well.

I would like to inform you that we have successfully transferred to our new system and interface yesterday. I would like to take this moment to say ‘Thank you’ for your patience with our earlier version of AdOnion. We have created the new system with your feedbacks and a lot of flexibility, if you have any questions, comments or feedbacks in regards to the new system don’t hesitate to let me know.

In addition, I would like to remind you to login to our system to make changes to your ad zone rates. During the transfer we’ve used default values and may not reflect on your desire rates, please feel free to make the changes. You can go to ‘My Ad Zone’ => ‘Pricing’ to change the rates for your ad zone, don’t forget to save it. In addition at the moment all ads are pre-approve, if you wish to approve all the ads before it shows in your marketplace please go to ‘My Zone’ => ‘Ad Settings’ and switch the pre-approve to off.

We also know that the serving is slow right now, our tech is working on it to bring back up your earnings.

Sorry for the inconveniences!

As a publisher, earning the most revenue from your site is important but how to earn the most from your website is the key. A lot of publishers like to populate their website with ads, usually the publishers will know fairly fast that this method won’t work. Why you may ask? As your website is full of ads it decreases the value to your website’s content and users will find it annoying and leave your site, without visitors to your site you will not increase your revenue. In addition, most network will suspend sites with a large number of ads as it does not provide conversions to their advertisers. As a result carefully layout your ads on your website.

You should always consider your visitors and value of your website content when placing ads. You would need to balance the two in order to successfully earn from your website. Your website needs to be neat and clean, uncluttered and inviting in order for your visitors to stay and find what they want and provide value. When you maintain your visitors they will help you to earn your revenue by looking at ads that interest them. Remember this is something long term, consisting testing would be needed in order to strick the right balance.

Here are some tips that I found that will help you decide where to place your ads effectively:

Blogs:

Source: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=43869

Forums:

The most effective ad placement is from the darkest color to the lightest color.

Source: http://www.google.com/images/adsense/en_us/support/forum_en.jpg

Website:

The most effective ad placement is from the darkest color to the lightest color.

Source: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=17954

Remember that there’s also popunder and interstitials ad formats that you can utilize on your website as well in addition to these banner ad formats. For popunder and interstitials I would advise 1 popunder and 1 intersitials per user session. These tends to be a bit more intrusive and annoying to your website’s visitors therefore it is best not to over use them on your website.
